Procedure for Meeting Pages
Procedure for creating meeting pages
The consortium has two large meetings — one in the spring and on in the fall each year.
The materials from these meetings should be uploaded to the website and made available on
a secured meeting page, linked to the consortium dashboard.
See Spring 2020 Meeting, May 4-5, Zoom for an example and layout.
Procedure for creating meeting pages
Note: The steps below could be repeated for each session, for each day, or for the entire
meeting.
- Collect all the materials for the meeting and place them in
Materials
subfolder
of the meeting folder on Dropbox. In this way, the materials posted to the site are
collected in one place for each upload. - Make PDFs of all documents and presentations. Browsers handle them well.
- Name each of the materials by date, session, and type such as
2020-05-05 Concept breakout Audio.mp4
In this way, sorting by name brings all the
materials for a session together for completeness checking and upload. - Upload the materials to the website. You will need site credentials and an upload
utility such as FileZilla. Upload the materials towp-content\uploads\year\month
where
year and month are the year and month numbers of the month in which the meeting was held. - Go to the Media Library and select
Add from Server
. You will see a list of uploaded
files. Select the materials to be added to the media library and press Import at the
bottom of the list. The uploaded materials will be added to the media library. - For each piece of material added to the media library, edit the item to secure it by
setting the read group toNIH Consortium
and press Update to save the change. - For each piece of secured material, link the material to the page by putting the
material’s URL in the page’s markdown. A typical session might have:[Audio]() · [Video]() · [Slides]() · [Chat]() · [Transcript]()
which will appear as
Audio · Video · Slides · Chat · Transcript
where the parentheses contain the URLs of the various materials.
-
Save the page by pressing Update
- Check the page by visiting it with a browser outside of WordPress. Correct as needed.
